Heather Knight (England Captain): "Hugely pleased. We got 2 trophies against the world champions which is quite special. Credit to the group and to the crowd who come up to support us. The way the journey turned out is special, though not winning the Ashes is tough. The way the group has turned it round after the Ageas Bowl, it was a pretty quiet bus journey on the way here because there was a lot of emotion and disappointment that the Ashes had slipped away, but credit to the group and staff. We really turned up today. We wanted to entertain and inspire the crowd, we owed that to everyone. I'm very impressed with how the girls did that. Hugely impressed by how the girls performed and happy with the win.
The fact we'd gone so close in the Test and first T20 built more belief. It was just about staying level but accepting that we could do a lot about it because we very close. We knew we had the players to compete with this very good side. The staff deserve a huge amount of credit for keeping us believing. The turnaround has been hugely impressive and I think there is a lot of leaders in the group and credit to them.
Today was as close as playing our best match. Players like Nat are at the top of their game, now it is about trying to get better, keep improving. The mentality is right, it is about executing better. We have got a lot of experience in the team.
The points system is quite tricky. The same happened to us when we were in Australia. Not sure, but little bit harder to win them and not retain the Ashes. Maybe about right, but maybe can have an odd number of points for one of the series, not sure.

Nat Sciver-Brunt (Player of the Ashes, ENG): "The knee thing was a bit troubling. In the Test match, there were some emotional times when I tried to contribute to the team and try to win games for the country.
I don't really like to think about the bigger picture. I try to stay in the present. Maybe I analyze it a bit on which areas to improve. But happy with my performances in this Ashes series.
Being able to win the T20 and ODI series has cemented that belief. But not in the pressure moments. We are not at the top where we want to be but we have taken some steps in the good direction."

Ashleigh Gardner (Player of the Ashes, AUS): "Its probably the consistency I am looking for. England outplayed us but its nice to contribute individually but sadly the series didn't go according to the plan.
We came over here to win the Ashes and retaining it is great. There are plenty of things to improve and work on for the next series. We need to find the fighting series which we lacked but showed a little of it. England outplayed us.
You need to trust the training you have done and your skill as well. We train a lot and the skill doesn't come over a day. Just backing that and knowing your teammates support you as well helps.
You gotta understand the balance of all three skills on the day. It comes with maturity as well and consistency as well. Its putting a lot of time in training on all three aspects and find that balance knowing what works for you individually."

I have actually never been the leader in the gap. When you look at the world tournaments we just win key moments but at times in this series, we haven't. England are playing some great positive cricket at the moment that could win you games. If you look at world cricket Sri Lanka is beating New Zealand and Bangladesh is beating India.
Being able to give the young players in the big moments like the Ashes series. They get to play high level of cricket in front of the crowd is amazing. It will do the whole game good. I back their abilities.
