Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): "[Thoughts on the game?] Yeah, very disappointed. Not meant to be for us today. Got outplayed by a very good England side today. They played really well.
[What didn't work out for them this evening?] Not too sure. The main difference between our innings and their innings was more partnerships. We started well with the ball but they had that big partnership. We didn't have any partnerships to speak of and didn't have any batters going. Frustrating to lose this one on the big stage. But yeah, we will go back to the drawing board.
[On the pitch and what was the score they would have liked chasing?] It was a pretty decent pitch. Coming on nicely. I thought 170 was above par. We were pretty happy with that, especially with that outfield. It was lightning. It was going to be tough to defend. But they bowled well. Had different plans for us and we weren't able to step up.
[How challenging is it to play against England with this massive home support?] It does play a role. But good to see so many fans out here tonight. It adds to the vibe and the energy. Couple of South Africans as well that I saw. That was nice.
[On their campaign] Decent campaign for us. Happy to make it through the group stages. Upon reflection, our batting never fired throughout the competition. We had glimpses here and there. But I think as a whole, we weren't quite clicking. So, yeah that showed again today. Our bowling and fielding was good throughout. So, we will have a look at what we have done wrong and come back better next time.
[Do you think the youngsters have learnt enough lessons in this WC?] I hope so. Yeah, we have got an exciting mix at the moment. We have senior players and some exciting youngsters coming through as well. We will learn from this. The likes of Dercksen, she was good throughout the tournament with the bat. So yeah players like that can be good in the next edition."
