SUS won by 6 wickets
2 AM IST, 9:30 PM Local Time: Sussex take their first T20 Blast fixture of the season by 6 wickets defeating a strong Essex side on their own turf in Chelmsford!

Quick recap at the game where Sussex won the toss and elected to bowl. Couple of half centuries from Paul Walter and Michael-Kyle Pepper and some important contributions lower down the order helped the hosts score 191/5 in the first innings.

Daniel Hughes and Tom Clark then got off to a flier inside the powerplay before Charles Bennett picked up Clark's wicket in the 3rd over. Hughes was joined by James Coles with the duo adding 45 runs for the 2nd wicket.

Boundaries were flying all over the park with Hughes hitting 10 fours in his 25-ball 44. Coles hit 50 in 29 balls with 5 fours and a six. John Simpson at number 4 top scored with 63 in 23 balls smashing 8 sixes and just one four, killing the game in the middle overs.

Simon Harmer (1/25), Matthew Critchley (1/35), Luc Benkenstein (1/23) and Charlie Bennett (1/14) picked up a wicket apiece. Shane Snater with the new ball bowled 2 overs for 0/22. None of the bowlers could keep the scoring rate down with Sussex chasing the total down in just 16 overs!
That's it from our coverage of this one-sided clash between Essex and Sussex from Chelmsford. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of scorers Paras Yadav and Manish Bishnoi. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
