Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans captain): "(Happy with the run chase?) Definitely. We did not want to take it as deep as it went. But happy with two points.

(On their plans) We knew that it is not the kind of wicket where we will run through the opposition or chase the score down in 15 overs. The plan was if someone is set, they should take it deep and finish it off. That did not happen. But luckily we had Washi (Washington Sundar), who finished it for us.

(Was it a conscious effort to send in one left-hander after the other?) Not really. It was more about the kind of situation we were in and the best batter we thought in that situtation."

Jason Holder (POTM): "[On the new ball bowlers] They were excellent, they have set the tone for us all season. Credit to both Siraj and KG, you know, their efforts have been outstanding. Even when they have went for a few runs, they have come back well and gave us those crucial breakthroughs. It kind of makes my job a bit easier, coming in the middle after the tone they have set but having said that, you still need to come in and execute.

[On bowling after a good opening spell from others] The main thing is to keep the pressure on. Ensure that you make it tough for them to score. We have talked a lot about it in the dressing room.

[On him focusing more on T20s] Yeah, it is fair to say that. I have played only T20 cricket, I haven't played much of Test cricket. I would still like to play some Test cricket, I haven't closed that chapter for myself. It is just being able to focus on T20, it has helped me to prepare well and be ready for each and every scenario.

[On his role] Yeah, for me it is just about executing whenever I am being asked to come in. I am probably a bit disappointed for not finishing in the last two games. It is about staying positive and understanding my role. It is about trying to execute as well as I can under pressure."
Punjab Kings suffer consecutive defeats. A rare failure for their top order, and the middle order was exposed early in the piece. Still, they got to a challenging score, but GT had their mantra clear. One of their top three batters scored a half-century, and then Washington Sundar held his nerve beautifully.

GT's bowling continued to breathe fire, but tonight, despite the defeat, PBKS will take plenty of positives, especially with the way they turned it around with the ball.

The action continues in the IPL, with a bottom-of-the-table clash coming up tomorrow (May 4) at Wankhede. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are in desperate need of wins. Both teams will give their all to get back to winning ways.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators, Ajay Pal Singh and Darpan Tikiya, scorers Manish Bishnoi and Paras Yadav, and statistician Aman. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers!
