Jos Buttler (GT): "[On the suraface] Yeah, really good batting surface. Bowlers deserve a lot of credit, one of the biggest differences for us was taking our catches today.

[Help for the bowlers tonight?] Yeah, it did nip around a bit. Some fantastic bowlers on show with the new ball. Siraj and Rabada have been great for us, and obviously in the opposition as well. Shubman talked about trying to put them off their lengths, credit to him for going out there and doing that.

[On taking on Bhuvi and his dismissal] Those guys are so accurate, so just tried to change their lengths and put them off their lines. When I got out, got a bit too greedy. There was a big gap in the mid wicket region, tried to exploit that and yeah, nice piece of bowling from Bhuvi.

[Gill's tactics against Hazlewood] Phenomenal. He spoke about it before the match. When your leader does what he spoke about against a top bowler, so calmly, clinically, gave us a lot of confidence and broke the back of the chase early.

[Big 2 points] Yeah, massive 2 points for us. We need to hold onto the guys who are ahead of us. Really important win for us today."

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans Captain): "[How does the win feel] Feels very satisfying. On a wicket like this, to restrict a team like them under 160 was a tremendous job by the bowlers.

[Reason for the win apart from bowling] I think our fielding was one of those things. At times, we haven't fielded as well, but today was one of those days where everyone came together. The energy was very nice, especially after the 2nd over. Virat bhai hit us for some runs and how we came back together was very crucial for us.

[Whether he was overly aggressive in powerplay] Honestly, I was just feeling I was in the zone. First ball I got a bit lucky and then I thought today was my day. I was feeling really well, feeling confident that I wanna take the bowlers on.

(On Rahul Tewatia) He is a very important player for us. Very happy that he finished the game. That was one of the conversations we had in the timeout. We lost couple more wickets than we would have liked but he got some nice runs and everyone got a hit in the middle."

Jason Holder (Player of the Match): (On his performance and the team’s overall effort) "Yeah, I’m happy with the way things went for me personally. It was one of those nights where things were really clicking for the group. I thought our energy was really good from the start. We were able to get a few early wickets. After the first one, everyone is a little edgy, but credit to KG and Siraj for the way they pulled through and brought the game back in our favour.

(On the catch and avoiding a collision with Kagiso Rabada) Yeah, I did see him. I was just hoping that I didn’t run into him. I don’t know what would have happened if two big men had clashed. He was in my peripheral vision, but I felt he was far enough for me to go for the catch. My main focus was just to commit, make the attempt, and hold on to it.

(On the ball seemingly following him in the field) It’s not something I really notice, to be honest, but I’ll take it when it comes. It’s one of those rare nights where things just come your way. I didn’t go searching for it, but I’m just happy that I could take the chances and contribute to the team’s win.

(On waiting for his opportunity and batting in the middle order) I think it’s about understanding your role in the setup. It’s been really good. You’ve got to stay sharp, be very clear and detailed with your plans, and be ready to step in when needed. For me, it’s about keeping an open mind. You never know what situation you’ll walk into, so it’s important to stay switched on, adapt, and execute when the opportunity comes."
Both teams remain where they were before the game kicked off today! RCB stay at number 2 in the table with just their 3rd loss of the season. Important victory for GT strengthens them just below the top 4 with 10 points to their name. A good all-round show from the hosts sealed a 4-wicket win!
