8:25 PM IST, 4:55 PM Local Time | Deepak: A couple of wickets in the over of Ngarava has turned the tide of the game as the left-arm pacer bagged a crucial wicket of set batter Robin Uthappa and changed the equation of the game. Cape Town Samp Army thumped Harare Hurricanes by 15 runs and taste the first victory of the tournament.

Earlier after opting to bat first, Cape Town Samp Army posted 112/7 at the end of 10 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer for Samp Army, as the gloveman scored 25 runs. Bhanuka Rajapaksa contributed 24 runs, while Tadiwanashe Marumani played a cameo of 20 runs off just 8 balls and helped his side post 112 runs.

In pursuit of Samp Army’s 112 runs, Harare Hurricanes got off to a decent start as their openers, Robin Uthappa and Evin Lewis, added 33 runs for the first wicket before Lewis departed for 16 runs. Donavon Ferreira joined Uthappa at number three, and Uthappa took responsibility for scoring at a brisk pace and accelerating the run rate, but Hurricanes faced a huge blow when both the set batters departed in the same over, leaving the Hurricanes in a spot of bother. Uthappa departed for 31 runs, while Ferreira played a scratchy innings of 14 runs off 11 balls. Following the wicket of Uthappa, Hurricanes triggered a collapse and they fell 15 runs short of the target.

On the bowling front, Richard Ngarava and Tom Curran bagged a couple of wickets for Cape Town Samp Army, while Peter Hatzoglou and Karim Janat contributed one wicket.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.

Parthiv Patel (Cape Town Samp Army Captain): "I think it was brilliant today. I thought we had a decent score on this pitch as it's not the easiest wicket to bat on. Once we got 112 runs we knew we are gonna win the game, but yeah, good to finish the game we have 2 points on the table. I think we wanted to keep it simple, we stuck to our plan and executed the plan well. The intensity in this game is massive and the margin for error is really low in this format so we have to be on our toes at all times."
That’s a wrap from our side as well. Cape Town Samp Army thumped Harare Hurricanes to register their first victory. I hope you enjoyed our coverage. For now, This is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Prince Suman, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!
