In pursuit of 107 runs, Joburg Buffaloes did not have a good start as both their openers got out early. Yusuf Pathan and Will Smeed formed a quick 32-run partnership. In the 4th over, Pathan scored 16 runs off Brandon Mavuta, shifting the momentum in favor of the Joburg Buffaloes. However, Mavuta quickly turned the tables by taking Pathan's wicket. The Joburg Buffaloes lost several wickets during the middle overs. Although Ravi Bopara(39*) played a quick innings, but he couldn't finish the winning line and lost the match by 2 runs.
From the bowling point of view, Nandre Burger was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3 wickets, while Christopher Mpofu and Brandon Mavuta extracted a couple of wickets.
