FOUR OVER EXTRA COVER, AND PRAVEEN DUBEY CLINCHES IT FOR THE BLASTERS OFF THE LAST BALL! The Hubli Tigers players are crestfallen, they gave it their level best, but come out second best at the end of 40 overs of cricket! It is the experience of Praveen Dubey that helps the Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters sneak past the finish line tonight! LR Kumar went full and wide, attempting the defensive yorker. Dubey reached out and got enough bat on the ball for it to fly towards deep cover. The fielder out there put his best effort to go for the catch, couldn't get to it, and in the end, couldn't get anything behind the ball to stop the boundary either! A quality finish to the Hubli leg of the 2026 Maharaja KSCA T20 Trophy, and it's the Blasters who come out on top!
WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT!!! Praveen Dubey has got the Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters over the line. A fantastic knock from Dubey and tough luck for Kumar LR and Hubli Tigers.

BLB won by 3 wickets
11:49 PM IST, Local Time: A Friday-night thriller from Hubli ground and its Praveen Dubey who has got Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters over the line. They sneak in a terrific victory on the very last ball of the match and once again beat the Hubli Tigers in this season by 3 wickets. This match was a proper showcase of why Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters have dominated this season by far. They were pushed against the wall, but with their belief and gameplay they thumped their way into the match to knock down the Hubli Tigers.

Shubhang Hedge and Praveen Dubey's partnership for the sixth wicket got them back into the contest. Chasing the target of 198 runs, Blasters started off with a flyer as 16 runs came from first six deliveries. But the Tigers bounced back inside the power play, scalping 3 wickets early on. It was the brilliance of Shikhar Shetty in the middle overs that turned the tide towards Hubli Tigers and the Blasters were struggling at 98/5 near the halfway mark.

But then the captain walks out in the middle under a lot of pressure as Wahid Khan who was playing well from the other end also got caught at long on. Then, it was Praveen Dubey who has the task of not only holding one end but also needed to dispatch the bad balls to keep the run rate under check and boy he did the same thing. Both Hedge-Dubey were going smoothly and took the charge back to the HT bowlers from the 13th over.

But a slight pause in play happened due to rain in the 15th over, and it did hamper a loss of concentration for Dubey as he was dropped by Aneeshwar Gautam in the very next over. When everything seemed to be going well for KBB, Hedge was dismissed by Vaibhav Sharma at the end of 17th over. It all came down to Dubey as he went bonkers from the other end and stitched up an unbeaten half-century. 12 runs were needed off the last over and 2 runs off the final delivery. Praveen Dubey held his nerve and perfectly placed a boundary on the last ball to get KBB home.

Batting first, Hubli Tigers had a terrific comeback in the death overs and the onslaught from Abhinav Manohar and Shivkumar Rakshith along with Manvath Kumar got them to a fighting total of 197/6. Kalyani Blasters bowler did start well with the ball and took full advantage of the moisture available from the surface. At one point they were ahead in the game with the scorecard reading 82/5 at 11.1 overs. But things changed drastically for them in the remaining overs.

Mohammed Taha (Hubli Tigers captain): "(On losing in the last ball) Pretty heartbreaking to come so close and not win the game. The game we played a couple days back was a very close game too. It was a good game overall, good for cricket.

(On the start with the ball) We got a good score, in fact we got a good start as well. 59 for four in six overs. Thereon they built some partnership and we could not execute well in the end.

(On rain delays) This has been happening from the first game but that's part of the game, we cannot do much about it, got to do what is in our control. With lot of rain, it was difficult to grip the ball for both spinners and fast bowlers. The boys did a wonderful job.

(On what lies ahead in this league) The table is still open, we are going to the Bengaluru leg with a lot of positives, a couple of wins and then we'll see how it goes."
Shubhang Hedge (Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters captain): "(About the win) It came down very close and we knew at the halfway mark, that it was going to be a tough chase for us. We always knew that 198 would take some good batting but the wicket did not offer much for the batters.

(On pacing the chase) We lost too many wickets in the power play. We knew that we had the batting depth to take it till the end. The drizzle in between did fear us about but over the last few days it's always been a passing shower. So, we just hoped to let it pass.

(On team's performance) I think every match, someone or the other have stepped up and did the job for us. Today also Faizan Khan got a good 25 and like everyone's chipping in and I think we are in a good position.

(About Hubli Tigers) Yeah, I think they played some good cricket on both the occasions and it could have been two wins in two games for them also, but I think we held our nerve better and won the game.

Shubhang Hedge ends the interview by thanking the team's physio for helping him recover from the finger injury and get him on the field."
