Abhishek Sharma (Player of the Match): "Obviously, this one is special as it is coming for the country. Amazing feeling. 

I mean I have told this before as well. When I see it's my day, I always try to go hard from the first ball. The way the Coach and Captain have treated me from the first day, they have always backed me and wanted me with that intent so I am really happy.

Obviously when the opponents are bowling in 140-150 kmph, you always have to react early. The plan was to react to the ball and play my shots.

No I think, obviously when you are hitting a world class bowler over the covers for a maximum, it is a special shot but I would say the sixes I had hit to Adil Rashid those were special for me.

(Drive shots down the ground) Yes obviously I remember that because that was the shot which Yuvi Paaji mentioned last day so he was happy for those shots.

Probably he (Yuvraj Singh) should be happy after this. He always wanted me to play more than 15 overs and I wanted to contribute as much as I can for the team."

Varun Chakaravarthy (POTS): "I am happy that the fielding also drew some applauds. The team has been emphasising on improving our fielding, I have been working with our fielding coach. 

This is the best I have bowled, as I had told you earlier, there is room for improvement as I should not have bowled the bad balls that I did bowl. 

I am not taking them for granted. They are a top side, it was just a matter of bowling the right ball at the right time.

Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "No, it's always about being instinctive at the ground. However you feel will get you a wicket, just throw the ball to them. I mean these guys work really hard in the nets and keep practicing to do well in the game. I am really pleased with their efforts.

I mean this is what we have spoken about in the team meeting. We wanted to play a different brand of cricket and sticking to it irrespective to what is the outcome. It is a high risk of a game but it is what it is.

(On Abhishek Sharma) I mean it is always good to see someone at the top batting like that. I am very happy for his family as well. I am sure they must have enjoyed this innings.

(On Varun Chakaravarthy) I thought you are going to talk about this fielding (laughs). I mean he has been one guy who has been relentlessly working hard during training with Dilip Sir. He always takes out time for his fielding. On his bowling, I have said that many times, he is a very process oriented man and I am very happy for him.

I mean that's one thing you do together on the field. The efforts bring an extra energy in the team irrespective of what you do in the batting or bowling department. That is what I demand and they never disappoint."

That wraps up a thrilling 5-match T20I series between India and England! The Men in Blue were simply too hot to handle for the visitors. From the smog controversy in Kolkata to the concussion substitute debate in the 4th T20I, England had their share of excuses. But at the end of the day, performance on the field is what matters, and England fell well below par.
