Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe Captain): "(Experiences of the two Super 8 games) Pommie I am a guy who looks at the positives. For me, the positive from the last game was that we panicked a lot in our batting line-up looking at 250. I always said that you cannot win the game in the first six overs but you can certainly lose it if you are chasing a big total. Today I felt that we were a lot more composed with our batting. We gave ourselves some time in the middle and played better cricket.
(What could you have done different today?) I think we could've executed our defensive plans slightly better. I think we went going at them with hammer and tongs and there was a lot of miss execution from all the bowlers tonight. They ended up getting a lot of runs. I think we could've executed our defensive plans better which could have kept them to 210-220.
(Improvements from the Wankhede game) Batting wise yes but I think bowling and fielding we could've done better. Like I said, last game taught us how to go about in a big chase like this. Certainly I saw that today. We are also in a work in progress to be honest. Most of the players are playing their first world cup. First time ever in India as well for us but I don't want to use that as an excuse. Certainly the lessons from the last game as a batting unit has been implemented by the batters tonight.
(Things to do better in the next game) Firstly we need to change the result. What I am looking for is definitely a better fielding and bowling performance from us. Hopefully we can carry on with our batting performance and keep getting better. At the World Cup, in such a big stage, you always need all your three departments to click together. Unfortunately if one lacks, then the game runs away from you. Hopefully in the last game, we leave everything on the park and give our best shot to win our last game."

Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "(Discussion with team after loss to SA) I think we wanted to leave everything behind. We didn’t think too much about what we did in the league stage or what we did in the last game in Ahmedabad. But really, we had a slide which our video analyst had made for all the batters and all the bowlers — what we did over the year. We saw that slide and took a lot of positivity from that. And when we came here, I think with the contributions from all the batters from the top till number seven, I think it was heartening to see.
(What does it do to win so emphatically for the dressing room?) To be very honest, we could have been a little bit more clinical with the ball, but it’s fine at the end of the day. A win is a win. But we’ll take it when we move forward. We’ll tighten our screws when we go and play the West Indies.
(Explain further on bowling) I don’t want to take any credit away from the Zimbabwean batters. I think they batted beautifully. Yes, the wicket was good, but the way they batted — they took their own time in the powerplay and later on batted very smartly — credit goes to them as well. But yeah, from the bowling point of view, we could have been a little bit smarter in taking those nice options.
(On the do-or-die game against WI) I think when we are in such situations, we’ll have to be more courageous in taking calls. There’s no other option other than taking that positive route. When we reach Kolkata, we’ll definitely sit down and think about that game. But currently, a day off tomorrow — travel and relax."
