STAT: Deepti Sharma is now the first Indian bowler with multiple five-wicket hauls in Women's T20Is, with both five-fers coming in 2026.
NUMBERS GAME: Today’s Attendance at Edgbaston was 18814. This is the highest ever in any group stage match in a Women’s T20 World Cup. The previous highest was 15935, which was also an India vs Pakistan game in Dubai in 2024.
Fatima Sana (Pakistan Women Captain): "[Where did they lose the match?] I think in the batting side, it's really disappointed. We have to step up in the next game because we have a long way to go in the World Cup.

[On their bowling] We were good till the 15th over. We gave too many runs. Also, one fielder inside the ring cost us too many runs.

[The reason behind them being slow while bowling?] I think it might be about the lefty-righty. The whole team is young and they will learn after getting in that situation.

[On the dropped catches] Obviously, catches win you matches. But who dropped the catches, those were the senior players. We have to improve in bowling and fielding in the next game. Because if we can step up in the field, we will win.

[On their death bowling] We will try to execute the plans and try to do it as quick as possible.

[Happy with their batting in the powerplay?] Yeah, definitely. When you saw the powerplay in the batting and bowling, you want that. But after that, we collapsed. We want to improve in the batting moving forward."
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "[On the win] Yeah definitely. Very happy. Firstly, I really want to thank the Indian fans. They are for us so yeah, really, really want to thank them.

[On Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma finding form] Yeah definitely. Whenever we need, they are there to push the team so very happy with the way they played today.

[On the pitch] Well, I think it was a decent pitch. I think, initially we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. However, later on when Smriti and I were batting we tried to control the game and then we got what we wanted.

[Where does she want Richa Ghosh to bat?] If it is in my hands, I would love to send her on the first ball. But I think she has a role to play, and she is doing really well. Really happy the way she played today.

[On getting good in the field as the match progressed] Yeah, definitely. Cricket is a game in which if you take all the catches, you always win the match. That is what happened during the fielding. We wanted to push ourselves on every ball and I am happy the way we fielded over all in the game.

[The importance of winning by a big margin] Yes, definitely. Every league game is important. Really happy how we played today because that is something that is going to help us at the end of the league games.

[If she was physically fit as she was hobbling after the match] Yes, I am fine. Thank you very much (laughs)."
