11:22 PM IST, Local Time: Jabalpur Royal Lions have won the match by 5 wickets and 2 overs to spare. Ajay Rohera made a brilliant half-century and valuable contributions from Ritik Tada and Sanjog Nijjer has escorted the Lions across the line.

The Match 7 clash of the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore lived up to its billing, delivering an absolute nail-biter between the Indore Pink Panthers and the Jabalpur Royal Lions. Facing immense pressure on their home turf, the Pink Panthers set a competitive, yet highly chasable target of 149 runs after finishing their 20 overs at 148 for the loss of 8 wickets. The surface at the Holkar Stadium offered a good balance between bat and ball, forcing both sides to dig deep into their tactical reservoirs to gain an upper hand.

Indore's innings was a story of a solid start followed by a squeezing middle-overs choke implemented by Jabalpur's disciplined bowling unit. The Pink Panthers tried to break free during the powerplay, but steady wickets kept breaking their momentum. The Royal Lions used their experienced bowling core, led by Punit Datey, to stifle the scoring rates and force errors. He ended up with one wicket for just 18 runs in 4 overs. Despite struggling to clear the boundary at will, Indore managed to scrap their way to 148, primarily thanks to a couple of crucial late-order cameos that gave their bowlers something substantial to defend. Pankaj Patel was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 4 overs.

When Jabalpur stepped out to chase 150, the match threw up high-intensity drama. The Royal Lions leaned heavily on a majestic anchor inning from their prominent top-order batter, Ajay Rohera, who brought up a spectacular, high-pressure half-century. Rohera timed his strokes beautifully, finding gaps with surgical precision while making sure that the asking rate never spiraled completely out of reach. His presence kept the dugout calm even as Indore's bowling attack began fighting back aggressively in the secondary phase of the innings. He ended up scoring a fighting 51 off 41 balls, steering his team to a commanding position.

After the wicket of Ajay Rohera, Ritik Tada and Sanjog Singh Nijjer played quick fire knocks taking the side over the line with 2 overs to spare, and win the game by 5 wickets. Ritik scored a match winning 47 off 27 balls, while Sanjog added an unbeaten 23 off 13 balls. Jabalpur Royal Lions have managed to get their first win under their belt tonight. However, Indore Pink Panthers are still looking to get off the mark in the tournament.
Venkatesh Iyer (Indore Pink Panthers Captain): "Tough pill to swallow. Still searching for the first win and it is not easy to be honest. We got to bat first on a very tricky wicket. I tried to take my team to as better score as I could but yeah I would like to take the onus of this.

(On another loss) Still early days in the tournament. We have taken the games deep. The way Roshan is bowling is a big plus. The way the batters are chipping in is very positive. We have to get back together and we can comeback.

(On the crowd) I was not able to give them the entertainment they came for, but yeah I tried. I think this was a win for cricket. People come to watch me, Rajat and Avesh and yeah, this is a great platform."
Time for the post match presentation.
Rahul Batham (Jabalpur Royal Lions Captain): "(On the win)First win, it was starting match. Everyone chipped in, it was a proper team effort.

(On finding their two points) All the work of the  people who were working behind the scenes has shown up today on the ground and the win was a result of it.

Thank you."
Player of the match: Ritik Tada
Ritik Tada (Player of the match): "We lost a few wickets early. So, we needed to make a partnership. So, we wanted to make a 40-50 runs partnership and then play the big shots.

(On the no-look sixes) I don't think before playing them. They just come off.

(On what was the message when he walked out to bat) We were looking to make a partnership as the conditions weren't that easy. So, the priority was to stay there and the conditions got easier.
That's it from our side, for the coverage of the 7th T20 in the MP T20 League, between Indore Pink Panthers and Jabalpur Royal Lions. Jabalpur Royal Lions have managed to beat Indore Pink Panthers by 5 wickets and 2 overs to spare and get their first win under their belt. While, Indore Pink Panthers, led by 2 time IPL winnings player, Venkatesh Iyer, has found themselves on the losing side.
