Pakistan Women skipper Fatima Sana sent the Irish side to bat first as she believed in her team's ability to restrict the opponent to a low score. She herself dismissed Gaby Lewis, her opposite number for 1. But Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast batted well in the middle to accumulate the runs. Hunter scored 37 off 30 balls before missing a paddle sweep off Sandhu and it cannoned to her off stump. Orla Prendergast gifted her wicket despite being set in the crease. Prendergast got out for 29.
Leah Paul led the batting after two set batters got out. She got some support from Laura Delany who contributed 16 to the total. Leah Paul started finding the boundaries but Sadia Iqbal removed her on 28. Irish lower order failed miserably in the death overs and lost last 6 wickets for just 21 runs and got bundled out for 142 runs.
Fatima Sana led her team from the front with the ball and ended with 4/26. Sadia Iqbal, Diana Baig, Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu picked up a wicket each.
Pakistan Women started the chase with a bang as Gull Feroza pulled Orla Prendergast for a boundary in the very first ball. But Prendergast and Jane Maguire cramped them. They together removed Muneeba Ali and Gull Feroza cheaply and Ava Canning played her part after that. Canning was immaculate with her lines and her incoming deliveries cramped Sidra Ameen and Aliya Riaz from going for the shots.
The asking rate was skyrocketing and the batter decided to go big. The third wicket partnership of just 20 off 30 balls cost Pakistan heavily. They lost Sidra and Aliya in space of just three balls as both of them tried to break the shackles. That phase reeled the visitors backward. Two Irish spinners, Cara Murray and Lara McBride then bowled tight lines but Natalia Pervaiz and Rameen Shamim managed to get some shots right. Pervaiz was the top scorer for Pakistan scoring 29 and Shamim scored 27 before getting dismissed by Maguire. Despite all the efforts, Pakistan Women finished with 131 runs on the board, 12 short of the 143-run target.

Gaby Lewis (Ireland Women's Captain): "Very pleased, at the half-time we felt we were a bit short but we bowled well and played well to win. The message is to be aggressive since we bat till the bottom and it was pleasing to see how they performed today.
We had so many options with the ball, not everyone bowled but whoever came on made an impact and did brilliantly. I don't want us to get complacent, we will go back but the mission is to win 3-0 and not be satisfied with just the victory today."
