Winning the toss, Jharkhand elected to bowl and restricted Karnataka for 157/9 in 20 overs. Sushant Mishra picked up 3 wickets, Saurabh Shekhar and Roy played a wonderful hand with the ball as well.
Ishan Kishan got off to a flier scoring 15 in 7 before nicking one to the keeper off Vidyadhar Patil in the 2nd over of the chase. His opening partner Utkarsh Singh miscued against Vyshak Vijaykumar and perished in the very next over.
A bad shot from Kumar Kushagra saw him depart against Patil in the 4th over. A poor call from Anukul Roy had Virat Singh run out in the 6th over. 61/4 at the end of the powerplay, the game hanging in the balance.
In comes Shreyas Gopal bowling a tight spell alongside Praveen Dubey - the two legspinners putting the pressure. Robin Minz crumbled scoring just 7 runs. Anukul continued batting with intent picking up boundaries at regular interval and did not let the required rate to get out of hand.
