4:32 PM IST and Local Time- We have lost around 15 minutes already and the news from the venue isn't really encouraging. It's really dark out there and the ground staff have covered the entire field.

4:41 IST and Local Time- There's still not activity with the covers although it has gotten slightly brighter out there in the middle. We are hopeful of play resuming soon. 

5:00 PM IST and Local Time- The covers are still firmly in place and we have lost more than half an hour due to rain. There is still no fresh update regarding the resumption of play so the waiting game continues. 

Update 5:05 PM IST and Local Time- The game has been called off due to persistent rain. The ground is still under covers and the rain hasn't eased off. 

5:12 PM IST and Local Time- We could only have 21 balls in this game and the Kandy Bolts will disappointed as will be the Nuwara Eliya Kings. The game was interestingly poised as the Bolts had lost the wicket of Hemraj.

Pathum Nissanka got off to a good start though and he managed to score 26 from 11 balls. For the Kings, Benny Howell was the one who picked up the wicket before the rain played spoil sport. It's the second washout of the tournament and both the times the Nuwara Eliya Kings have been on the wrong side of the result.
