Chasing a target of 132 to win off 100 balls, Oval Invincibles lost Jason Roy early. Will Jacks got into double figures. Jordan Cox got a good 22 off 21 balls. Sam Curran scored 34 off 28 balls while skipper Sam Billings scored 25 off 15 balls. But it was Sunil Narine who held his nerve with his 13* off 5 balls that helped the Invincibles get over the line by 3 wickets with a ball to spare.
It was a good bowling effort from London Spirit. Worrall picked up a couple of wickets for 23 runs in 20 balls. Jordan Thompson picked up a couple of wickets for 23 runs in 20 balls. A couple of wickets for Nathan Ellis as well as he couldn't quite defend the runs in the final over while Critchley got himself a wicket to his name.
Earlier in the game, London Spirit were inserted into bat first by Oval Invincibles. Daniel Lawrence the skipper at the top of the order scored 24 off 17 balls. Adam Rossington looked good for his 39 off 21 balls. Matthew Wade looked good for his 37 off 27 balls. But the rest of the batting fell away as they were eventually bowled out for 131 in 100 balls in the end.
A good disciplined bowling performance from Oval Invincibles bowlers. Nathan Sowter was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/34 in 20 balls. He was ably supported by Sunil Narine who was miserly in his spell of 2/14 in 20 balls. A wicket apiece for Sam Curran, Guy Atkinson, and Tom Curran. A disciplined bowling performance that set up this win for the Oval Invincibles as the batters held their nerves as well.
