Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Lucknow Falcons Captain): "(Rain going in Lucknow Falcons' favour today? It was fortunate that the decision went in our favour. Otherwise, this is what always happens—sometimes things go a certain way and then people feel that we were tactically wrong. But thank God, the conditions were in our favour today.
(Happy with team's bowling) Absolutely. We were a little doubtful about the decision initially, before making it. But then we decided to bowl first, and the way the bowling went, I think all the bowlers proved us right, especially Abhinandan. But if you look at it, everyone bowled well. Navneet bowled the last over, but overall, I think it was a very good bowling effort.
(On Abhinandan Singh) He is definitely proving to be a match-winner. He is taking wickets for us and changing games. As far as helping him is concerned, I think I can share whatever I can and whatever experience I have. But the credit has to go to him for the way he is performing and working hard. Sometimes, no matter how much you explain things to someone, they don't necessarily work out.
But I think the credit goes to him for the way he has improved and adapted to things. Playing back-to-back matches is not easy, and generally, you see that the ball is also coming onto the bat. I think he's doing a great job for us.
(On Ajeet Verma) Absolutely. This is his first year, and when you come into your first year, you can be nervous at times. But looking at him, it hasn't seemed that way. Generally, if I talk about him, he is an opener, but we want to use him in the middle order. The way he bats against spinners is one of his plus points, and then there is his bowling.
When he came in and we picked him for the team, we didn't know that he bowled. But the way he started bowling in the nets, the coach and I decided that we could use him as a bowler. And the way he has performed after getting this platform, I think he's doing a great job."
