SIX!! THUMPED! DONE AND DUSTED!! Short of a good length and around off. Tripures goes deep in his crease and picks it up. Opens his stance and muscles it over the deep mid-wicket fence for a biggie to seal the deal. CHAMBAL GHARIYALS HAVE DEFEATED MALWA STALLIONS BY SIX WICKETS WITH 22 BALLS TO SPARE!!!

6:45 PM IST, LOCAL TIME: "Destiny rewards courage... and today, Chambal Ghariyals chased not just a target, but a statement victory." Who had the final laugh? Chambal Ghariyals did. And they did it in style. Chasing 155, they stormed home to 159/4 in just 15.4 overs, winning by six wickets with 22 balls to spare. Malwa Stallions had fought hard through Rishabh Chauhan's unbeaten 57, but their total of 154/7 never truly felt safe once the Ghariyals' top order came out swinging. From Ankush Singh's fearless start to Tripuresh Singh's finishing six, this was a chase built on intent. Pure intent. The kind that leaves bowlers searching for answers.

Let's rewind a bit...

How did the first innings unfold? It was a tale of survival before recovery. Malwa lost Ansh Yadav (3), Aryan Deshmukh (0), and Rakesh Thakur (11) inside the first five overs. At 42/4 after the Powerplay, the Stallions were under serious pressure. Akshay Singh and Avesh Khan shared four wickets between them and never allowed the batters to settle. Pankaj Sharma's brisk 20 off 13 balls gave some early momentum, but the innings was wobbling badly. The Ghariyals had their foot firmly on the accelerator.

Who rescued the Stallions then? One man. Rishabh Chauhan. Did he have much support? Not consistently. He first stitched together a 44-run fifth-wicket stand with Parth Sahani, taking the score from danger toward stability. But Parth's 11 off 17 balls reflected the pressure being applied. Then came a huge moment. Aman Bhadouria removed Ashutosh Sharma for just 1, leaving Malwa at 87/6. The captain's wicket felt massive. The Ghariyals sensed a collapse.

Did Malwa find a late push? Yes. And it came through the partnership of Rishabh and Prashant Kasde. Their 43-run stand for the seventh wicket arrived at exactly the right time. Kasde smashed 29 off 19 balls, striking four fours and a six. Rishabh remained calm amidst the chaos and finished unbeaten on 57 from 41 deliveries, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. Malwa added useful runs at the death and eventually posted 154/7, with 19 extras also helping the cause. Respectable? Yes. Match-winning? That remained the question.

Now..... THE CHASE!!

What happened when the chase began? Fireworks. Absolute fireworks. Ankush Singh announced himself with a six over covers off the very first ball of the innings. Then he finished the opening over with another maximum over deep square leg. Message sent. Intent shown. Even though Apurve Dwivedi fell for 4 at 18/1, the Ghariyals never slowed down. Captain Shubham Sharma joined the attack immediately. The Powerplay ended at 65/2, with the required rate already under control and pressure firmly shifting onto Malwa.

Who controlled the middle phase? Ankush Singh. Completely. Did wickets fall? Yes. But did the scoring stop? Not for a second. Shubham made a quick 12 off 8, while Rohit Kumar Gupta played a superb hand of 37 from 23 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Their third-wicket partnership produced 73 runs from just 41 balls. The Ghariyals crossed 100 in just 9.1 overs, highlighting the difference in approach between the two teams. Rohit fell to Parth Sahani, but the chase remained firmly on track.

What about Ankush's innings? It was the backbone of the chase. He reached his fifty in just 29 balls and never allowed Malwa's bowlers to settle. His unbeaten 58 off 36 balls featured 3 fours and 4 sixes, combining timing with power. Even after Gautam Raghuwanshi's useful 17 off 12 ended at 129/4, there was no panic. Ankush simply switched gears again. He absorbed pressure. Then released it with boundaries. A fantastic knock.

How was the game finished? With authority. Tripuresh Singh arrived and immediately turned the chase into a sprint. His unbeaten 23 off just 9 balls included two towering sixes. The fifth-wicket partnership added 30 runs in only 12 deliveries, extinguishing whatever hopes Malwa still had. Then came the final blow. SIX!! THUMPED! Tripuresh rocked back to a short ball and launched it over deep mid-wicket. The winning shot. The winning statement. The winning moment.
Ashutosh Sharma (Malwa Stallions Captain): (On where the game was lost) "To be honest, I think this game was heavily dependent on the toss. The conditions played a major role, and winning the toss gave a significant advantage. So yes, I feel the toss was a big factor in the outcome of the match.

(On playing in the Madhya Pradesh League for the first time) This is actually my first season in the league. I was really excited to play in the MPL last year, but I didn't get the opportunity then. This year I got my chance, and I'm really enjoying the experience so far. Hopefully, we can perform well and get better results in the upcoming matches.

(On the atmosphere within the team) The environment in the team is very positive. All the boys are confident because they prepared really well before the tournament. We had a few pre-season camps, and everyone put in a lot of hard work. The confidence level is high, and I'm sure the team will come back strongly and do well in the upcoming games."
Time for the Post-Match Presentations...
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: ANKUSH SINGH
Ankush Singh (Player of the Match): (On his aggressive start and the six off the first ball) "The wicket had become much better to bat on during the second innings. Because of that, I was able to play according to the way the ball was coming onto the bat. After hitting the first ball six, I just tried to continue playing positively and back my shots whenever the opportunity was there.

(On the difference in batting conditions between the two innings) When the first team batted, the conditions looked a little more challenging. By the time we came out to bat, the wicket had improved considerably and became easier for stroke-making. That definitely helped us in our chase.

(On the contribution of the bowling unit) A lot of credit goes to our bowlers because we have a very strong bowling attack. They didn't allow the opposition batters to settle from the beginning and kept things under control throughout the innings. Winning the toss and choosing to bowl first also worked in our favour, and the bowlers made sure we took full advantage of that decision.

(On making the most of improved batting conditions) Once the wicket got better in the second innings, we knew we had to make the most of the opportunity. We capitalized on the conditions, played our shots with confidence, and successfully chased down the target. It was a great team effort and a perfect way to start the season."
Shubham Sharma (Chambal Ghariyals Captain): (On the team's winning start and performance as captain) "I'm very happy with the way the team performed today. It was a complete team effort, and that's always pleasing to see as a captain. The tournament is a long one, and getting off to a winning start gives the team valuable momentum and confidence moving forward.

(On Ankush Singh's match-winning innings) Ankush has been in excellent form. Even during the practice matches, he was batting really well, and it was great to see him carry that form into the tournament. The most impressive thing was that he didn't let the game slip away at any stage. He stayed focused, controlled the chase brilliantly, and remained there until the end to finish the game for us.

(On the importance of the opening victory) A strong start is always important in a long tournament. Wins like these build confidence within the group and create a positive atmosphere in the dressing room. We're happy with the result, but at the same time, we know there is still a long way to go, and we'll continue focusing on improving with every game."
So what decided the match in the end? Intent. Chambal's batters attacked from ball one. They scored 65 in the Powerplay, reached 100 in 9.1 overs, and chased down the target with 22 balls remaining. Malwa relied heavily on Rishabh Chauhan's fighting fifty, while Chambal received contributions from Ankush, Rohit, Shubham, and Tripuresh. One side rebuilt. The other side dominated. That's often the difference in T20 cricket. Chambal Ghariyals march away with a convincing victory, while Malwa Stallions are left wondering what might have been.

Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with the scorer Paras Yadav. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!
