Shadab Khan (Islamabad United Captain): "(On the score posted by them) I think we were about 15 to 20 runs short of a par score. But it’s the first game. We didn’t get the momentum that we needed. We lost wickets back-to-back, and I think Momin Qamar bowled really well. He was brave enough to bowl in those areas, so credit to him as well. I think a learning point for us is not to lose wickets in clusters.
(On not getting a big partnership) Definitely. If our top four get set, they need to go on and make it count, but they didn’t go long. I think that was the missing part. But still, it’s the first game and hopefully we’ll learn from this.
(On Multan Sultans batting) Experience mattered in the way they played. The conditions were not that easy, but the way they handled it, especially their running between the wickets, was outstanding. Even on good balls, they were taking singles and doubles, and then capitalising on the bad balls."
