Shoaib Md Khan (Player of the Match): [on the win] "I kept believing in me. Initially in the league phase I wasn't doing that well. But kudos to the management, especially the support staff and head coach KB Arun Karthik, he kept backing me. Happy to be contributing towards the team's success.

[on his role] I was taken as an allrounder, off spinner-batsman. If quick wickets fall, I was supposed to take the innings as deep as possible. With the ball I just wanted to be economical but with left handers, I will always pick wickets.

[on playing in TNPL] Tamil Nadu is more of a home for me, not second home. I just love this ground. I love Tamil Nadu State Cricket Association. I've been blessed with many performances against Tamil Nadu and in Tamil Nadu. I just love the aroma whenever I'm in Chennai."

B Anirudh Sitaram (Madurai Panthers' Captain): "(On today's performance) I am very happy and proud of the way we played today. Must win game, we showed great character and showed our mettle in this game.

(On the planning before the game) We planned and understood that NRK are not great at playing spin. We executed accordinly, and in the last few games spinners were picking up more wickets.

(On the playoffs) We need to carry this momentum forward. We were struggling at one stage, but we ended up scoring 198 odd runs. That is something we need to build on and look to play the same way in the playoffs."

So, Madurai Panthers not only top the points table with this dominating 72-run victory but also knock out Nellai Royal Kings from the competition, as they fail to qualify for the playoffs for the third time on the trot.
