7:43 PM IST, 4:13 PM Local Time: What a game of cricket we have had here at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. A game that ebbed and flowed from one way to another. In the end, it is Sri Lanka who have come out of jail and hold their nerves to win this game by 21 runs to go top of the points table in the Super Six stage. Heartbreak for the Dutch.
Chasing a gettable 214 for the win, the Dutch lost both their openers Max O'Dowd and Vikramjit Singh for ducks. The innings was rescued by Wesley Barresi and Bas de Leede. Barresi scored 52 off 50 balls while Bas de Leede scored 41. Barresi's run-out was one of the turning points of the match as his wicket triggered a collapse. The rest of the batters fell away. The skipper Scott Edwards stood tall amidst the ruins and was unbeaten on 67* off 68 balls. He held the innings together but lost his partners in the end, The lower order tried but it was a bridge too far as the Dutch were bowled out for 192 in 40 overs. 16 extras were given by the fielding side.
From Sri Lanka's bowling point of view, Maheesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/31 in 9 overs. He was ably supported by Wanindu Hasaranga who finished with 2/53 in 10 overs. A wicket apiece for Dilshan Madushanka, Lahiru Kumara, and the skipper Dasun Shanaka who picked the last wicket to fall that of Aryan Dutt.

Dhananjaya de Silva (Player of the match): "Well tough match, they fought well, and luckily I batted well. My plan was to bat till the end and I was trying to bat straight. He (Theekshana ) batted very well and I was just asking him to not get out. Wanindu also batted well.
Yeah, I like to bat in the middle and I got the opportunity to score runs and I did a good job. Our guys are playing well, We have been doing well in all three departments. Top-order is getting runs and the lower-order is also supporting well. Our bowlers are doing a great job "

Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "Yeah absolutely very disappointed at the halfway mark we thought we were above par, it was probably 250-260 wicket. We had a good start. Credit to them, they bowled well in that little patch there and we couldn't get over the line. We bowled well throughout the innings but we failed to contribute with the bat.
Dhananjaya's batting was exceptional, as he didn't offer us many opportunities, and on such wickets, partnerships are bound to occur. Unfortunately, our batting performance was disappointing.
A run-out or an outstanding display of fielding can have a slight impact on shifting the momentum of the game. Considering our strong batting lineup, we had the capability to emerge victorious. We played bad shots and we batted first and we knew the conditions. But we need to play according to the wicket conditions. The masterclass innings from Dhananjaya de Silva. Deserved a 100 but from 96/6 to get to 214 due to Silva and Theekshana's partnership. Theekshana and Hasaranga are a real threat and we were confident of defending this total. Scotty was on strike so I kept Theekshana back. Lahiru is being assessed and let's see what the prognosis is. I am here to see and hope to win all my games and take all the games seriously. No team will be taken likely by us. I think we will play on a good pitch because it is Zimbabwe whom we are playing. Should be a cracking game to watch."
