7:44 PM: The rain has stopped. Only the pitch and nearby area is covered at the moment. The super sopper is doing its job around the outfield.
7:56 PM: Its getting worse! The rain has returned and the covers are coming back on the outfield.
8:03 PM: The match has been abandoned.
8:05 PM IST, Local Time: The inevitable has happened—persistent rain has forced the match to be abandoned, with both teams sharing a point each. The Nuwara Eliya Kings were firing on all cylinders and looked ahead in the contest, but the rain had other plans.

Earlier, the Colombo Jaguars won the toss and invited Nuwara Eliya Kings to bat first under overcast conditions. Avishka Fernando came out all guns blazing and pummeled the Jaguars bowlers from the get-go.

However, at the other end, Danushka Gunathilaka struggled to find his rhythm and had to retire out after scoring just 13 runs off 15 balls. Fernando, on the other hand, was in scintillating form, bringing up his fifty off just 18 balls. The Kings were 79/1 after 6 overs when rain intervened, forcing the officials to call off the game.
That's all from this rain-hit contest, folks! For now, it's me Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. CHEERS!
