So, That's it, Ladies and gentlemen. First Blood to the West Indies Women side under Stephanie Taylor as they convincingly defeat Pakistan by 45 runs to go 1-0 up in this 3 match series with 2to play. It was a professional performance from the Windies. They may have lost the toss but after being put in to bat, it was the Deandra Dottin show on a slowish pitch as she mustered a magnificent 132, her second ODI hundred. Campbell gave good support in her 42 and the others chipped in as the Windies finished with a competitive 253-8.
The run chase never got going, there were bits and pieces from Pakistan. A couple of '40s for Riaz and Javed but no big 100 like Dottin's West Indies bowlers were very efficient with the ball, with Campbell getting three wickets and the others line Anisa Mohammed the veteran legendary bowler along with Connell. The batters of Pakistan never got going and they failed to rotate the strike and which resulted in the Required Rate climbing up to stratospheric levels and in the end it was too much to cover.
So, a comfortable win by 45 runs to the visitors to go 1-0 up in the series.
