PUN won by 183 runs
4:16 PM IST, Local Time: A thumping win for Punjab as they drubbed Madhya Pradesh by a massive 183 runs to seal their spot in the semi-finals.

Earlier, Punjab crafted a commanding total through a blend of patience and late aggression, finishing on an imposing 345/6 in their 50 overs. After a watchful start in the Powerplay, where they reached just 41/0, Harnoor Singh and Prabhsimran Singh laid a solid foundation by valuing their wickets and steadily building the innings. The tempo gradually lifted as the partnership crossed 100, with boundaries coming through smart placement rather than risk. Harnoor anchored the innings with a composed fifty before departing for 51, while Prabhsimran followed up with a fluent 88, ensuring Punjab had a strong platform heading into the middle overs.

The innings truly gathered momentum through Anmolpreet Singh, who contributed 70, supported by Naman Dhir. With wickets in hand, Punjab were perfectly set for a late surge, and Nehal Wadhera delivered it in style. His brisk 56 off 38 turned pressure into dominance, as Punjab plundered 101 runs in the final 10 overs. Late contributions from Ramandeep Singh and others kept the run rate soaring, exposing Madhya Pradesh’s struggles at the death and transforming a solid innings into a daunting total of 345.

Madhya Pradesh’s chase never truly took off as they were bundled out for 162 in 31.2 overs, falling well short of Punjab’s imposing total. The innings began cautiously, but early wickets set the tone for a difficult pursuit. Yash Dubey departed cheaply, and although Himanshu Mantri and Shubham Sharma tried to steady the ship, regular breakthroughs prevented any meaningful momentum. The pressure intensified when skipper Venkatesh Iyer was dismissed for a duck, leaving Madhya Pradesh in deep trouble inside the first 15 overs.

The only meaningful resistance came through a 49-run partnership between Rajat Patidar and Tripuresh Singh, which briefly offered some stability. Patidar offered brief resistance in the middle order with 38 off 40 balls, striking a couple of sixes. Tripuresh Singh also chipped in with a handy 31, but partnerships were short-lived as Punjab’s bowlers maintained relentless control.

The wickets continued to tumble, the lower order failed to provide sustained support, and the innings quickly unravelled.

Sanvir Singh led the charge with three wickets, well supported by Gurnoor Brar (2/27), Krish Bhagat (2/28), and Ramandeep Singh (2/23), who struck at key moments to derail any recovery. Mayank Markande contributed one wicket to the downfall.
