Chasing 132 to win, West Indies were off to a flier, scoring 17 runs in just four balls. But the wicket of Kyle Mayers (6 off 2) in the fifth ball put a bit of pressure on the chasing side. Brandon King smashed boundaries one after the other and took the score to 34 in a blink of an eye. Once King (23 off 8) departed in the third over, Nicholas Pooran (16 off 7) and Johnson Charles (28 off 14) played handy cameos to bring the required run rate well under control.
Anrich Nortje (3-0-17-1) bowled a fiery spell amidst these, and West Indies did really well to see him out. Sisanda Magala (2-0-21-3) gave West Indies a bit of a scare as he was on a hattrick in the penultimate over. The hosts lost Quinton de Kock in the very first ball of the match bowled by Akeal Hosein. In trying to score quick runs, South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals. Despite losing 8 wickets, the Proteas side managed to score 131 in their allotted 11 overs.
It was Reeza Hendricks (21 off 12) in the first half of the innings shining for the batting side, while David Miller (48 off 22) did what he does in the fag end of the innings alongside Sisanda Magala (18* off 5), who surprisingly rose to the occasion to score an unbeaten cameo.

We will take the positives and come back tomorrow. It is a lot of runs, but a hard ground to defend. 131 was a good score, but we did not start well. We have areas to improve and the guys will identify the areas to improve and come back tomorrow. It's about debriefing and reviewing matters and come back fresh tomorrow. Lots of positives for us to take back home and come back tomorrow to do well."
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain and Player of the Match): "Yeah, yeah definitely. After the way I performed in the ODIs, I had an honest talk with myself. The T10 format is familiar to many members of the team. The ball flies here, and 130 is within reach. We took a lot of shots, but there is still a period where we have to push it around. It's not always possible to hit good international bowlers for 6, 6, 6. You must master the fundamentals. It's critical to get wickets with the new ball because that's the only way to stop a strong South African lineup."
