This is the end of the innings! This time the fielder makes no mistake in the deep. The Asia Cup champions have finally got their first points on the board. A comprehensive win for the Lankan Lions. Floated ball on the stumps. Siddique slogs, but doesn't get the distance and finds Nissanka at deep mid wicket.

And that is the end of the game! After losing the first game against Namibia, Sri Lanka have roared back strongly to win this contest by 79 runs. They are well and truly alive in the competition and will fight it out against the Dutch side in their next game.

Fair to say that UAE were never really in the chase as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Chameera started the damage and the carnage continued with the spin duo of Hasaranga and Theekshana taking the charge. UAE never really had any answer to Sri Lanka's bowling exploits. Siddique tried his best, but it was too much for him as the other batters failed to put up a brave fight. Chameera was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/15, and was the chief destroyer up-front.
Pathum Nissanka | Player of the Match: "Thank you. Along with Kusal, I managed to get a good partnership. It helped me to get set. Afterwards, all the other players played their part. It is natural. I am happy to be playing this innings in the World Cup and help my side win a game."
CP Rizwan | UAE Captain: "Yeah, to be frank, we thought that it was a decent score. But could have done better in the first half. We did come back nicely. To get a world cup hat trick, Karthik Meiyappan did a great job. No, we don't have experience of playing in this cold. We play under 40-45 degree celsius back at home. We will try hard in the last game to get a win."
Dasun Shanaka | Sri Lanka Captain: "Yes, they (fans) follow us everywhere. They have come from Melbourne city. Kudos to them. We thought we didn't finish well. At one time, we were looking at 180, 190. But didn't finish well. But at the mid-way, we knew that bowlers like Dushmantha, Hasaranga, and Theekshana would come into the party, which they did indeed. Dushmantha bowled brilliantly. Hopefully, he (Chameera) is okay. We didn't think of a net run rate at any stage. We were keeping our eyes only on winning the game. (Thanks Sri Lankan fans, in his native language)."
Ahh!! A great day for cricket. Earlier, Netherlands beat Namibia to keep the group wide open. Only one team, UAE are out of the World Cup. All three teams, Netherlands, Namibia, and Sri Lanka are in contention to finish in the top two.

For now, this is your guy, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Anurag Dasgupta (DG), Arjun Bhalla, Anurag Singh, and Gargi Raut, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought you all the live action of this wonderful game. We will meet again tomorrow with another enthralling day in this mega event. Until then, it is a goodbye!
