Toronto Sixers won the toss and opted to bat first. Alex Hales and Jason Roy failed to meet the expectations and scored only 60 in the first 7 overs in their partnership. Roy was bowled by Ryan Higgins on 41 and Hales continued to struggle. Daniel Sams and Navneet Dhaliwal then got out for cheap scores. Suresh Raina was instrumental in his side scoring over the 100-run mark. He hit two maximums and a boundary to score 19 off 8 balls. Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 21 off 19 balls, a completely faltered innings from the English veteran as the Sixers posted only 103 losing 4 wickets in their 10 overs.

Daniel Christian (Toronto Sixers Captain): "I think watching Alex and Jason's struggle in the middle, I thought we had enough on the board. They are two great white ball players. Then came Sams' hat-trick! We felt we were in a good position. But it is tough to stop someone when they get going.
We have seen it in every game, the game ebbs and flows. It has been a really exciting few days here in Vancouver."

Shakib Al Hasan (Montreal Royal Tigers Captain): "Very unpredictable game today. We bowled well and fielded well in the first innings. After the hat-trick in the first over of our chase, we thought that we had lost the game but credit goes to Dilpreet Bajwa. He single-handedly won the game for us.
The good part of this tournament is that it is giving exposure to local talent. Good thing for Canada cricket.
