Toronto Sixers won the toss and opted to bat first. Alex Hales and Jason Roy failed to meet the expectations and scored only 60 in the first 7 overs in their partnership. Roy was bowled by Ryan Higgins on 41 and Hales continued to struggle. Daniel Sams and Navneet Dhaliwal then got out for cheap scores. Suresh Raina was instrumental in his side scoring over the 100-run mark. He hit two maximums and a boundary to score 19 off 8 balls. Alex Hales remained unbeaten on 21 off 19 balls, a completely faltered innings from the English veteran as the Sixers posted only 103 losing 4 wickets in their 10 overs.

To defend the 104-run target in a flat pitch, Sixers needed early wickets. Daniel Sams was to a tee in his approach and took a hat-trick in the first over. Dilpreet Bajwa changed the game there. Later his partner Shreyas Movva chipped in and hit two sixes to score 16 off 14. Bajwa got to his fifty in just 15 balls and took the equation to 8 off the final couple of overs. Nick Hobson hit a boundary and a maximum in the first two balls of Mark Watt's over and finished the game off. Dilpreet Bajwa remained unbeaten on 68 off 22 balls with 2 fours and 9 towering sixes!
