Trent Rockets have won this match by 29 runs and have qualified further in the tournament.
After losing the toss and being forced to bat first, Trents Rockets got off to a flying start as Alex Hales and Dawid Malan added 89 runs for the first wickets before Hales got departed on the individual score of 38 runs. Malan scored 58 runs and with the help of some quick runs by Daniel Sams and Colin Munro in the death, helped the Rockets to get to the score of 172 runs in their 100 balls.
Coming into the chase, Welsh Fire did not have a good start as they lost their opener Tom Banton in the second over. After that, they kept on losing wickets on regular interval, all thanks to some brilliant bowling display by the Rocket’s spinners Samit Patel and Tabraiz Shamsi in the middle overs. Both of them picked two wickets each and took the game away from the Fire’s.
Ben Duckett got to a start but got out before making 25. Matt Critchley did some firing in the later part of the innings scoring his maiden half century and remained unbeaten on 55 runs of 35 balls, but did not get any support and ended on the losing side. Luke Wood was also brilliant with the ball before he got out of the bowling attack due to two over height no balls. He was brilliant with his mix of quicker and slower deliveries.
Welsh Fires lost 8 straight game in this tournament and they will surely look into their mistakes and will improve and will try to come stronger next year.
An overall team effort by the Trent Rockets out there in the middle to get their 6th win and will strengthen their position at the top of the table.
