Earlier, Trichy Grand Cholas posted a commanding 196/6 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first by iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. Tiruppur made the perfect start when T Natarajan dismissed skipper Suresh Kumar for just 2 in the opening over, but K Rajkumar and Shyam Sundar quickly turned things around. The pair added 72 runs for the second wicket, taking Trichy to 75/2 before Rajkumar departed for 37.

Shyam Sundar (POTM): "[When did you come to know that you were playing?] They told me this morning itself that I was playing. In the first game, I got the opportunity to play, but I couldn't do much because I got run out. After that, I didn't get to bat in the next two games. So, when they told me this morning that I was playing today, I was well prepared. I've been really focused for the last 10 days. I was in my own bubble and constantly visualising myself scoring a big hundred. But after actually scoring this hundred, it feels so surreal. I still haven't been able to process what I achieved today.
[Just minutes before you reached your landmark, there were a couple of catches dropped. At that point, did you feel that it was meant to be?] Throughout the innings, I wasn't focusing on milestones like 50 or 100. I was just focusing on each ball and trying to keep myself calm. That's the only thing I did. Even now, when I think about what I was going through, I was just in my zone, staying calm. That's it. It happened.
[You spent some time in the Chennai Super Kings nets, and you also spent quite a bit of time in this dugout. Could you share your experiences with these two teams?] To be honest, it was a great experience being with the CSK team. I've seen all the players and how they prepare before and during the tournament, and it was a wonderful learning experience for me. I've learned a lot from them, and it really helped me.
I'd also like to thank my parents, my family and my friends. It was a really tough 10 days, and they were with me throughout the process. I was feeling really low at times, but they were the ones who kept boosting me and supporting me. I'd like to dedicate this hundred to my parents."
