2:30 AM IST, 10:00 PM Local Time: DAN MOUSLEY HAS WON IT FOR THE WARWICKSHIRE BEARS, AND WE HAVE WITNESSED A TRUE THRILLER AT EDGBASTON! Warwickshire Bears have won the game by 4 wickets, and they have turned the tables in the final two deliveries, courtesy of a NO-BALL from Jimmy Neesham to give back the momentum to the Bears. 13 runs were needed off the last six deliveries, and the equation came down to 11 off the final two deliveries. But Dan Mousley backed himself to dispatch both the no-ball and free-hit delivery out of the park to get the Bears home.
The game could not have had a more dramatic end, and Glamorgan would have thought at one end that this was their game, but they lost it in a passage of just two deliveries. Dan Mousley remains unbeaten at 38 runs off 23 deliveries.
Coming to the chase...
Zen Malik started with a flyer, scoring 14 runs off the first over, but his life at the crease was short-lived as he was removed in the second over itself. But the onslaught continued from the other end, thanks to Robert Yates, who, along with Beau Webster, stitched up a 69-run partnership for the second wicket. But then, Mason Crane dismissed Webster to get Glamorgan back in the game. Yates continued the carnage and brought up his half-century in 27 balls. Sam Hain, who arrived at the crease, also fell cheaply for 18 runs, and Benjamin Kellaway struck again in the same over to dismiss the set batter Robert Yates as well.
Warwickshire were struggling at 129/4 at one point and needed someone to steer them through the finishing mark. Captain Ed Barnard and Dan Mousley started to rebuild again and stitched a crucial 35-run partnership for the fifth wicket, before the skipper sacrificed his wicket for Dan, who was going well from the other end.
With just 8 runs coming off in the penultimate over, the pressure was entirely on Dan Mousley and Warwickshire to find the runs. Neesham started the final over brilliantly, giving away just 2 runs off the first four deliveries. When everyone considered Warwickshire out of the game, a slight opportunity arose for them with the no-ball delivery, and Dan Mousley cashed in on that to get the equation in his favour. And with 4 required off the 2 balls, Dan Mousley was confident enough to dispatch one more maximum in the stands and win the match for Bears.
