Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "I think we bowled pretty well in the middle overs. However, we didn’t fully control the powerplay as we wanted, and we didn’t execute well in the back end. It's about losing wickets in clusters.
If we keep losing wickets in the first and second overs of the powerplay, we’re always going to find ourselves behind in the game. That’s happened to us in the last eight or so T20 games, so it’s something we need time to rectify.
I think it's about taking some time off as a T20 group. We won’t come together again until maybe mid-2025, so the players will have the opportunity to reflect on their game, review the mistakes we've made as a batting group during 2024, and hopefully, by 2025, those small mistakes will be corrected.
They have been fantastic. To come to the Caribbean after a disappointing ODI series and perform against a strong T20 team is commendable. A lot of credit goes to them. I wish them a safe journey home.
Yeah, it's my first full year as captain, and we started out really well, moving the team from 9th to 4th in the world rankings. However, it's disappointing to see how we've fallen off a bit in the last few series. When a team starts to decline, you can sense it, and it's something we’ll need to address in 2025. That said, I want to thank the boys for their efforts throughout 2024, and to all the fans across the Caribbean, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
