FOURRRR!!! Roston Chase means business! He needs only one ball to wrap up the fixture! Good length delivery, 142.3 kmph, angled back into the pads. Chase allows it to come at him and uses the pace and angle of the left-arm pacer. He tickles it fine past the dive of the wicketkeeper to his left for a boundary. West Indies win by 7 wickets with 13 balls to spare and lead the three-match series 1-0.

4:45 AM IST & 7:15 PM Local Time: That's it, the West Indies complete a comprehensive seven-wicket win to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Matthew Forde set it up with the ball and then half-centuries from Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran steered the hosts home with 13 balls to spare.
Earlier in the match, West Indies won the toss and chose to field. Shortly after, a heavy shower delayed the start by an hour. The rain stopped just in time for the officials to proceed with a full 40-over contest.
South Africa had a disastrous start, losing 4 wickets for just 33 runs in 6.1 overs. They lost another wicket in the 9th over, leaving half the side back in the pavilion.
However, Tristan Stubbs and Patrick Kruger steadied the innings with a crucial 71-run partnership for the 6th wicket.
Kruger fell for 44 off 32 but Stubbs carried on and made a good half-century. He made 76 of 42 balls. Thanks to Stubbs' late fireworks, South Africa posted 174/7 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Alick Athanaze and Shai Hope gave the hosts a brisk start, scoring 84 runs in 8 overs. Athanaze was the first to fall. He perished for 40 off 30.
Shai Hope made a fine half-century and Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten on 65 off 26 balls. He also hit four consecutive sixes off Nandre Burger.

Nicholas Pooran (POTM): "First of all, thanks to the almighty. Hope and Athazane played very well in the powerplay. I felt like Shai Hope and Alick Athanaze put South Africa under pressure in the powerplay.
At the ten-over mark, we knew it was a better wicket, and my job was simple, and I just had to take on my match-ups. With rain around, the first ten overs were tricky when SA batted. Stubbs and Kruger played well, but we knew the wicket would get better."

Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Probably more so with the runs. The ball was coming on nicely in the second innings. So would have liked 10-15 runs more.
Just a bit tacky up front. It got better and better. The way Stubbs and Kruger batted. Hats off to them. They got us to a good score.

Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "It is always good to go 1-0 up in the series early on. We bowled well up front but didn't finish well. We bowled well in the powerplay and though we let them off a bit, we were good with the bat.
The guys need to be ready from game one in these three-match series. We need to improve our fielding. At this level, mistakes on the field are not acceptable. The guys look a bit rusty, which is unacceptable at this level.
See, the next World Cup is a bit too far away. A lot of talk is around the next T20 World Cup, but we have to play one game at a time and see different players. We have to stay in the moment. It is too early to concentrate on that one, and it is not convenient to just say, World Cup, World Cup."
