6:23 PM IST, 2:53 PM Local Time: The match has been abandoned due to rain and wet outfield. It is still heavily raining and even if the rain stops in the next few minutes, there won't be enough time to have the minimum requirement of 20 overs needed to constitute a one-day international.

The toss was delayed by more than 3 hours due to rain and the wet outfield with the match reduced to 28-overs per-side. Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi called it right at the coin flip and elected to bowl first.

Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai swung the new ball early but it was the latter who produced a magical spell and made the batters' life hell on the pitch moving the ball both ways with expertise.

Tadiwanashe Marumani and Brian Bennett were dismissed on consecutive balls in the 4th over with the finger spinner Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar removing Dion Myers in his first over itself. Omarzai in his extended spell reduced the hosts to 41/5 with 2 wickets in the 8th over in form of debutant Ben Curran and Sean Williams.

Only Curran (15) and Myers (12) could reach double figures with the bat. Omarzai was bowling his penultimate (5th) over when rain reappeared and the players walked off, the right arm pacer missing out on a 5-wicket haul and finished with 4/18.

Both the sides will take the field again on Thursday at the same venue.
