08.05 PM IST, 04.35 PM Local Time: We are at the midway of the game as Zimbabwe scored 77 runs loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 9 overs.

Zimbabwe innings got off to a rocky start as Brian Bennett (8 off 5) showed promise but fell early. Captain Sikandar Raza (0 off 1) followed suit, and Tadiwanashe Marumani (1 off 9) failed to get going, leaving Zimbabwe struggling at 11/3 inside three overs.

A counter-attacking of 36 off 18 from Ryan Burl featuring 2 fours and 3 sixes offered some resistance. He stitched a crucial 41-run stand with Wessly Madhevere (11 off 9) to stabilize the innings. However, Burl’s dismissal at 52/4 shifted the momentum back to Ireland.

Late contributions from Tony Munyonga (9 off 7) and Tashinga Musekiwa (10 off 5) pushed Zimbabwe to a modest total. The Irish bowlers, led by Joshua Little (2/8) and Craig Young (2/15), kept the hosts in check with disciplined spells. Graham Hume (1/15) chipped in with a key wicket, while Curtis Campher (0/22 in 2 overs) proved expensive.

With just 77 on the board, Zimbabwe now looks to its bowling attack to defend the total and make a match out of it. Can they pull off a fightback, or will Ireland cruise to victory?
08:10 PM IST, 04:40 PM Local Time: The rain has arrived once again and the start of the second innings will be delayed. The groundsmen were standing by the edge in the last couple of overs and as soon as the innings was completed they were quick to rush in with the covers and have covered the entire square now.  The sky looks really gloomy, we are fast running out of time.
08:20 PM IST, 04:50 PM Local Time: There are no signs of the rain relenting, in fact it has gotten heavier and skies have gone darker in the last few minutes. The covers are firmly in place and no one can be seen on the ground. We will be really lucky if we get going again.
08:22 PM IST, 04:52 PM Local Time: There comes the inevitable - the match has been abandoned due to rain. We had already lost so much time to the rain earlier and this final burst of rain has had the last laugh as it continues to pour at the Harare Sports Club. Such a pity because the game was nicely set up with Ireland needing 78 off 9 overs after Zimbabwe got to 77 on the back of Ryan Burl's heroics with the bat. Ireland's seamers, specially Little, Young and Hume did some great work with the ball but none of that matters as this match has ended in a stalemate.

There are two more matches remaining now in this 3-match T20I series with the second one coming up in less than 24 hours. Let's hope that the weather improves by then and we have a full game.
