Ayush Mhatre Replacement: 3 Players Who Could Join CSK IPL 2026 Squad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been dealt a massive blow as their in-form youngster, Ayush Mhatre, has been officially ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026. The 18 year old sustained a severe hamstring injury during the clash against SRH on April 18. Mhatre, who was a revelation at number three, scored 201 runs in 6 matches at a blistering strike rate of 177.87. CSK management has confirmed he will require 6-12 weeks of rehabilitation.

With a critical void in their top order, the Yellow Army must now look at the replacement pool. Here are three players who could fit the bill:

1. Yash Dhull

The former India U-19 captain is the frontrunner for a call-up. After recovering from a heart surgery in 2024, Dhull has been in sensational domestic form. His recent form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was stellar, where he amassed 651 runs at an average of 93.00. Agarwal’s ability to take on the new ball and his extensive IPL experience make him a safe and reliable option for the final stages of the tournament.

3. Manan Vohra

A veteran of the domestic circuit, the 32 year old Manan Vohra has been knocking on the doors with consistent performances for Chandigarh. With solid numbers in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare trophies this season, Vohra offers a high-impact top-order option. While he was overlooked in the 2026 auction, he could be the ideal 'one-season' solution to fill the gap left by Mhatre.
