A right-handed batsman with a fluent technique, Dion Myers is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for the national cricket team.
Myers made his first-class debut for the Mountaineers in the 2020-21 Logan Cup. Prior to the tournament, the elegant batter was a part of the Zimbabwe squad for the 2020 U-19 World Cup.
In May 2021, Myers was drafted into the Zimbabwe A squad for their series against a formidable South Africa A side. In the first game of the series, Myers struck a crafty 96 runs, which was also his first List-A half-century. He performed well in the remaining matches and as a result, was repaid with a place in the Zimbabwe squad for their One-off Test match against Bangladesh in July 2021.
He finally made his Test debut against Bangladesh on July 7, 2021.
A wristy player who loves to grind out in the middle, Myers is still raw at the moment, and with a bit of training on his skill and temperament, he could be the next star of Zimbabwean cricket.
