Sasha Moloney

Sasha Moloney is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmania in the domestic campaigns. 

A classy right-handed batter, Moloney has also represented the Typhoons Team in Cricket Ireland Women’s- Super 3’s Series. Moloney was part of the Hobart Hurricanes squad for the inaugural edition of the WBBL season in 2015. 

Over the years, she has been constantly hampered by injuries that prevented her from reaching the top of her game. She missed the entire 2013-14 domestic season due to a knee reconstruction and was also out for the majority of the WBBL season 2 due to a similar injury. 

Ahead of the 2018 WBBL season, the Hurricanes’s team management played a gamble and decided to try out Moloney as their new skipper for that season.

So far, Moloney has played 46 matches for the Hurricanes and has only accumulated 239 runs, with a strike rate of less than 100.
