She broke into senior county cricket in her teens, representing Yorkshire Women and quickly establishing herself as a dependable top-order batter. From the outset, she showed a willingness to take responsibility, someone who wanted to face the new ball rather than hide from it.

The launch of the Women’s Cricket Super League in 2016 brought her into the semi-professional fold, and her performances with Loughborough Lightning and Yorkshire Diamonds helped build her national profile.
