IndAbout Priyank Panchal
A technically sound right-handed batter, Priyank Panchal is an Indian cricketer who plays for Gujarat in the Indian domestic circuit.
Panchal rose through the age-group cricket and appeared for the Under-15’s in the 2003-04 Polly Umrigar Trophy. He continued his meteoric rise and eventually made his List-A debut for Gujarat against Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It was a dream debut for this dynamic batter who slammed a 115-ball 123 and announced his arrival in some style.
Panchal continued to perform well for Gujarat and it was in the 2016-17 season where he truly joined the party. In that season, Panchal became the first player to score a triple century for Gujarat. He finished the Ranji Trophy season with 1,310 runs from just ten matches.
The following season, Panchal was the leading run-scorer for Gujarat with 542 runs in seven matches.
In August 2019, Panchal was named as the captain of the India Red team for the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy.
Two years down the line, Team India had to play a 5-match Test series against England and Panchal was named as one of five standby players in the side.
In November 2021, Panchal was named as the captain of the India A side for the South African tour that commences from November 23.
