He is a three-time championship winner and ‘Slinga Malinga’ will be back in the 12th season purely as a bowler. He entered the auction and as expected, MI lapped him up for INR 2 crore. Malinga enters the tournament having led Sri Lanka’s T20 team in the recently concluded series in South Africa. Like Pollard, he too is a veteran and Rohit Sharma will get some help in the field in making vital decisions when the match goes right down to the wire. Malinga has over 100 IPL games under his belt and this experience will be vital.
