NOTAbout Lyndon James
One of the highest-rated prospects from Nottinghamshire’s Academy, Lyndon James is a professional English cricketer who has played cricket for almost as long as he remembers moving up gradually in age-group cricket.
A dynamic all-rounder, James made his first-class debut against Essex on September 10th, 2018. An all-rounder by profession, it was James’ bowling that took center stage in his first appearance when he scalped Murali Vijay, Dan Lawrence, and Tom Westley on his debut.
On the back of an impressive debut, the then 19-year old spent most of his time skippering the Notts second XI. The right-hander made his senior breakthrough in the limited-overs setup for the Notts in 2019. He made his List A debut against Worcestershire on May 1st, 2019.
In 2021, James cemented his place in the First XI for the Notts after a truncated 2020 season. The Worksop-born all-rounder played some crucial knocks in the County Championship including his career-best of 79 against Durham and produced his best spell with the red-ball, taking 4-51 in the win against Essex.
James so far has impressed a lot of people in his short professional career and has a boatload of red-ball experience at the age of just 22. Aspiring to represent England in Test cricket, James has to outperform some of the best all-rounders in the current English squad to even have a chance.
