From the historic lands of Kapilbastu has emerged one of Nepal’s most exciting young talents — Durgesh Gupta, an all-rounder who plays cricket with the energy of a rising comet and the confidence of a seasoned performer. Born on 25 December 2004, Durgesh has rapidly grown into a player who commands attention every time he steps onto the field.

A right-handed power-hitter and a left-arm medium-fast bowler, Durgesh brings a rare skill combination that makes him a genuine match-winner in any format. With the bat, he is fearless and explosive — a player who doesn’t just look to score runs but looks to dominate. His clean hitting and natural ability to clear the boundary have already made him a fan favourite at the youth level.

With the ball, he becomes an entirely different threat. His left-arm angle, coupled with the ability to swing the ball both ways, makes him a difficult bowler to line up. Whether it’s picking up early wickets or breaking partnerships in the middle overs, Durgesh has shown he can influence games across phases. His standout performances for the Nepal Under-19 team have marked him as one of the brightest all-round prospects in the country. Now, as he prepares to represent the Lumbini Lions in the 2025 Nepal Premier League, Durgesh stands on the cusp of a breakthrough season.
