Kedar Mahadev Jadhav, a batting all-rounder generally plays for Maharashtra and the Indian cricket team. Having scored his maiden triple ton in the Ranji Trophy of the 2012-13 season against Uttar Pradesh, he became the second-highest run-scorer for his team in the entire season.

With a conventional playing style and attitude to back him, Jadhav had to struggle to become a regular for Maharashtra. Kedar made his domestic debut in 2007. However, Jadav was widely used as a lower middle-order batsman. It was not until he was promoted up the order that Raydu got a chance to perform and shine. He was named in the National team squad for the tour of Bangladesh in 2014 but was not called upon. On his debut in the fifth ODI of Sri Lanka’s tour of India. Kedar did not have the best of his day as he got stumped after scoring only 20 runs.

Kedar Jadhav has been a vital part of the lower middle-order of the Indian side over the last 3 years and has played several important innings, particularly a match-winning hundred against England to close out a chase. the Maharashtrian scored 120 off 76 balls and shared a 200-run partnership against England on his home ground. There were times when he even outclassed Virat Kohli in the run chase.

Being injured for almost a year in 2018, Jadhav was fortunate enough to have found support from the team and the selectors. This helped him to come back stronger. He played a crucial role in the India-Australia series in 2019. On the back of an impressive tour in Australia, he was named in the final draft for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup for the number 6 spot. In 6 matches Jadhav only managed to score 80 runs and lost his spots to various youngsters knocking on the selector’s door.

Having previously played for Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala. The middle-order batsman represented CSK in the twelfth and thirteenth editions of the cash-rich league. However, he didn’t feature in the tournament after tearing his hamstring in the opening match. In IPL 2019, Jadav was called upon to play the same role CSK wanted him at last year. However, Jadhav had an ordinary season. In 2020 IPL, Jadhav got just 8 matches under his belt in which he scored just 62 runs. Failing to impress the team management in the last IPL, Jadhav was released from CSK. Ahead of the 2021 edition of IPL, he was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a base price of INR 2 crore to rejuvenate the lower order.

Having been out of the squad for over a year Jadhav had been a prominent figure in the 2021 Vijay Hazare trophy. He finally appeared back to form after two devasting seasons for CSK in the IPL. The 35-year-old is scheduled to represent SRH in IPL 2021 has scored 86 and unbeaten 101 runs in his last two outings for Maharashtra in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. The right-handed batsman would look to carry the current form heading into the IPL 2021. Only time will tell how Jadhav's career will end up, with him on the sidelines for national selectors, post-2019 ODI World Cup.
