In an era dominated by aggressive batting and fast-scoring innings, Campbell Kellaway stands out as a throwback — a patient, technically assured left-hander who values time at the crease. The 2002-born Victorian batter has quickly built a good reputation for himself.

Kellaway rose through the Cricket Victoria pathway, turning heads with his performances in junior and school cricket. His breakthrough came when he represented Australia at the 2022 Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies. With 239 runs in six games, he was the second-highest scorer for his team in the multi-nation tournament.

Kellaway made his first-class debut for Victoria during the 2022–23 season and needed little time to adapt to senior cricket. In the same season, he made his debut in List A cricket as well as the Big Bash League (BBL).

In the one-day format, Kellaway also made headlines with his maiden List A ton in February 2025, guiding Victoria into the Marsh Cup final. His performances earned him selection for Australia A, underlining his growing stature in domestic cricket.

During a Sheffield Shield game in Perth in March 2025, Kellaway took an unreal one-handed diving catch that set social media abuzz. The catch even drew praise from none other but legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

“Was it an audition for Spiderman or Superman? This is truly a mind-boggling catch. Simply awesome," Tendulkar tweeted about the catch.

The Victorian batter has toured India with the Australia A squad. "Getting to play some cricket in India is pretty cool. I was just over there (in July-August 2025) for the MRF Academy and just to play in those conditions is completely foreign to what we get here in Shield and one-day cricket in Australia. Any chance I can get to get over there and experience that is a good thing for my cricket," Kellaway said about his experience of playing in Indian conditions in an interview.

Off the field, Kellaway comes from a strong sporting family, related to former AFL players Andrew and Duncan Kellaway.

With his strong technique and temperament suited to red-ball cricket, Campbell Kellaway is seen by many as a future Test prospect.
