The former South African captain’s batting prowess is well known. He became the first player from South Africa to score a triple-century in Tests and has a healthy average as well as strike rate across formats. Amla was brought into the KXIP squad as replacement for Shaun Marsh in the 2016 season after the Australian was ruled out due to injury. The top-order bat played six matches for the franchise in his debut season and was bought by KXIP ahead of the tenth edition of the IPL to boost the lineup.
