Hailing from Dharavi, Simran Shaikh is a talented middle-order batter representing Mumbai Women’s team in the Indian domestic circuit.
Simran started to feature in various tennis ball tournaments at the age of thirteen with boys and made sure to help her respective teams win trophies on most occasions. In addition, she supported the family with the winnings, as her father, an electrician-wireman, gave up his job due to health issues.
The batter rose up the ladder and got a chance to represent the Mumbai senior team. According to the stats available, the Dharavi-born’s first appearance came in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy in March 2021. She garnered 40 runs in three innings at an average of 20.
In the next edition of the One Day Trophy, Simran contributed 56 runs in four innings. Then, the right-hander represented India C in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy and mustered 54 runs in three appearances.
Simran secured an INR 10 Lakh contract with UP Warriorz (UP-W) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 auction.
