Hailing from an Island country in the Caribbean, Kesrick Williams is a right-arm fast bowler who plays professional cricket for West Indies Cricket Team and the Windward Islands.

Williams made his first-class debut for the Windward Islands in March 2011, playing against the England Lions in the 2010–11 Regional Four Day Competition. He had a dreadful debut picking up just one wicket in getting out on a duck in both innings. Playing just one more first-class match, he was dropped from the squad for his inability to provide important breakthroughs.

After two years out of the domestic circuit, Williams bounced back in the 2012-13 season. Williams switched to the Combined Campuses and Colleges, going on to play in the final of the 2012–13 Regional Super 50 cup but couldn’t prove to be influential. After some small stints for over three years, he finally laid his ground in domestic cricket around 2016. He was included in the Jamaica Tallawahs squad for the 2016 Caribbean Premier League season. In CPL 2016, William grabbed eyeballs after picking 17 wickets in 13 games and became the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. His splendid performance in the final rattling 2 for 12 in four overs led Jamaica Tallawahs to the CPL title in 2016.

On the back of an amazing CPL season, Williams finally announced his arrival to international cricket in the 1st T20I against Pakistan on 27th September 2016 after replacing the injured Andre Russell. His spectacular entry wasn’t enough as West Indies lost to Pakistan but Williams ended the match with brilliant figures of 2/15 in his four overs spell.

In June 2017, Williams made his ODI debut against India in the third match of the series and ended the match wicketless. He hit the headlines with his trademark notebook celebration whenever he takes a wicket. In one of the T20 matches against India in 2017, Williams scalped Virat Kohli cheaply and his notebook came out against one of the best in the world. Soon Virat Kohli got better of him when he smacked Williams all over the park and emulated his notebook celebration to give him a dose of his medicine.

Williams has not been that influential in his short career, but he has improved a lot in the shorter formats proving his consistency, and emerged as an instant hit for the Men in Maroon.
