ANDRE RUSSELL COMPLETES THE INNINGS IMMEDIATELY! Short of a length outside-off, Rauf swings it to deep mid-wicket where Saif Badar takes the catch. The Knight Riders start to celebrate joyously while Rauf is on his haunches! A close 11-run victory for the Jason Holder-led side as they move to the 2nd position in the points table!

LAKR won by 11 runs
9:49 AM IST, 11:19 PM Local Time: The Los Angeles Knight Riders seal an exciting final over victory against San Francisco Unicorns! A 11-run win after winning the toss and electing to bat first. A complete team performance for the Knights!

Colin Munro top scored with 52 off 43 balls and was helped with some important knocks by Matthew Tromp (49 off 28) and Andre Russell (40 off 18) as the Knights posted 184/7 in the 20 overs. Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers with 3/25, Xavier Bartlett finished with 2/24 for the Unicorns.

Jason Holder broke the back of the chase with a fantastic opening spell, sending Finn Allen, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Sanjay Krishnamurthi back in the hut inside the powerplay. Unicorns managing 60/4 in the first 6 overs as skipper Matthew Short hit 43 in 30 balls to keep things going for the Unicorns.

Hassan Khan arrived at the crease with intent and hit 45 in 33 deliveries. Shadley van Schalkwyk (1/30), Andre Russell (3/42) and Lloyd Pope (1/23) got the Knights back in the game in the middle overs. Hammad Azam at number 7 hit 4 fours and 2 sixes to score 40 in 19 deliveries but was dismissed in the 19th over as Holder finished with 4/40.

Defending 12 runs in the final over with just a wicket in hand, Andre Russell removed Haris Rauf first ball and sealed the victory for the Knight Riders.
Matt Short (San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "[What he thought about the target at the half-way mark] Look I think probably on par, they might have left a few runs I am not sure. We did well to claw them back. They got off to a better start with the bat than we did. We will move on and focus on tomorrow.

[Positives from the match] Hassan Khan and Hammad Azam probably haven't had the opportunities so far, batting lower down the order. Nice to have them contribute. They almost took us over the line.

We want to obviously win every game. Every game is important. The table is tight. We would have liked to have won tonight. Will come back tomorrow, push harder and get to San Fran."

Jason Holder (Player of the Match, Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain): [on the game] "We know the power they possess at the top of the order. Allen, Pretorius and Short, who take the game away in the powerplay. It was important that we got off to a good start. We didn't have our big king today, someone had to step up.

[on Tromp] Good to see him grab the opportunity. He was told he'll get the opportunity to go up the order in one of the games.

[on Lloyd Pope] He is a long time friend of mine, played a bit of cricket with him, good to see him come in under pressure and take the chance. It was a top spell, four overs on the trot, controlled the game in the middle and got the key wicket.

[on the win] Very proud of the boys. We fought really well. Doesn't matter how we get across the line, just want to get across the line. Don't think we've played the perfect cricket game yet.

[on his fitness] Body is hanging on. Hanging on for dear life. A lot of cricket over the last couple of months."
