Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals Captain): [on the win] Always feels good when things go to plan. I know we won the game, we have qualified but lot of areas where we can do better.

[on Jadeja's position] We wanted one of the set batters to play a little longer and we needed runs. It's a wicket where you can't be having 2 players striking at 100. So we wanted one guy who could take the initiative and the risk so that the other guy could just stay in longer and Jadeja's as reliable as always. I knew back end - he would get us at least 25 off 10 which he did.

[on his bowling changes] Taken a lot of brave calls this season. That's how I like to lead. That's how I lead Assam as well. Of course different levels, different things. I feel you've got to take your chances. It's not a flip, not a gamble. I thought about it, there was only one guy who could get Hardik out and it was Jofra so that paid off well.

[on going by numbers or instincts] Instincts always.

[on Yash and Brijesh] It's tough but all the credit to them. I don't usually praise them a lot so they don't get all bloated and stuff. After tonight they deserve it. Brijesh, the way he's comeback after getting a few games here and there. And Punja, I think from a net bowler to his journey being the lead spinner - remarkable job. I hope they do it for one more game and then 2 more games.

[on fitness in the team] I am definitely not fit. All of this was mental fitness. I wasn't supposed to play today. But Jofra's fine. He's strong as a rock. Jaddu bhai has some niggles here and there but he's got the sword. He's a warrior, he'll be back.

[on qualification] As I said we should have qualified earlier. We left it a little too late. We left a lot on the table. Hopefully we will learn from all our mistakes and we put up a better show."

Jofra Archer (Player of the Match): [on his bowling] "I don't think it's my best yet. I have a little bit better than this but every time that you take the ball up, you just try to hit the good areas. Some days you are not gonna get rewarded and I am happy that we got rewarded on the day that we needed to.

[on Rohit and Dhir's dismissals] Just trying to get the ball in good areas. If you get hit for a boundary and it's a good ball then fine but you try to put the ball in good areas as much as you can.

[on bowling fast and not the variations today] Coach's instructions. After the 1st two games I was trying the slow balls and he said 'no more pace off'. The margin for error is more with pace on but the edges come into play as well.

[on batting] I was told to put my pads on and was surprised but I class myself as an allrounder and it was good to contribute with the bat."
Rajasthan Royals march into the playoffs. They had an emphatic start to the tournament, but had inconsistent returns through the middle. However, today, when it mattered the most, they pulled their socks up and put in a splendid team performance to finish 4th on the points table.

This win has also signifies the end of the road for Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings — two teams that had a season of contrasting halves.

Meanwhile, five time champions Mumbai Indians — who were on everyone's list as one of the favourites before the start of the season — have avoided the wooden spoon only due to net run rate. It has been a tournament of forgettable returns for them.

The playoffs begin on Tuesday, May 26. But if you're looking for some Sunday evening entertainment, feel free to switch to the tab covering the final league stage fixture — KKR vs DC — on the Crickxo app. From this window, this is Darpan Tikiya saying goodbye on the behalf of Ninaad Dixit, Pritam Dey, Ajay Pal Singh, Aman, Manish Bishnoi and Paras Yadav! See you soon.
