Justin Greaves (Player of the Series): (On his performances in the Test series) "The most satisfying thing for me is that when things got a little difficult and tricky, I was able to put my hand up in both the first game and this game with the bat. Roston and I put together a pretty good partnership in the first innings, but it was unfortunate that I wasn't able to bowl and help the team.
(On his injury) I'm probably just a couple of days away from getting back to full fitness. Looking back now, I really wish I could have helped the team a little bit more.
(On whether West Indies could have done anything differently on Day 4) I don't think there was much we could have done differently. The ball was keeping low and spinning. We wanted to be a bit more proactive with our scoring this morning, but you have to give credit to the Pakistan bowlers. They bowled really well, and we weren't able to come back.
(On the current state of his game) I think my game is in a really good place at the moment, but I'm never satisfied. I always want to do better and help the team.
(On the team's performances across formats) The fight from this group stands out for me. I think we've gotten stronger with every game, both in the Test team and the one-day team. Roston Chase (West Indies Captain): (On the Test defeat and the drawn series) "Obviously, it's disappointing. We wanted to come and win this series 2-0 or at least try to get this match ended in a draw. It's very disappointing after we spoke about the things we wanted to achieve during this home summer.
(On whether he would change the team combination) I think we probably would have gone with an extra spinner. I underestimated my injury and thought I would have been able to bowl a bit more. But once I got into the game, I was in too much pain, so I couldn't really bowl any further. So, yeah, I would have probably gone with an extra spinner.
(On West Indies' second-innings batting) I wouldn't say it's a concern, but in these conditions you're expected to score a big total in the first innings, and then as the pitch deteriorates, the scores come down. I just think we could have done a bit better in negotiating the spin and putting up a better total to give our bowlers something to bowl at.
(On evaluating the team's home summer) I think over these past two series we've been playing some really good cricket. We've been improving as a team and moving in the direction that I want us to go. But I'm still disappointed with this result. We wanted two Test series wins at home. We wanted to make this our fortress and come out unbeaten. The main thing is that we executed our plans. The way Abdullah Shafique batted, and then the way our spinners bowled in the second innings, taking early wickets and putting pressure on the West Indies team, was very pleasing. We've prepared for these Test matches over the last three months, so when you perform like this, you're always satisfied.
(On Abdullah Shafique, the spinners, and Pakistan's team selection) When we saw the pitch, we decided it wasn't a typical spinner-friendly wicket like those in Pakistan. So the coach and I decided to go with one fast bowler and two spinners, and we rested our main bowler - Mohammad Abbas because of the team combination. We also gave a young batter his debut. The way Mohammad Ali bowled with the new ball and the old ball, he put pressure on the West Indies. Then Ali Usman bowled really well and picked up wickets for us."

Pakistan leave the Caribbean with the series drawn 1-1, but perhaps more importantly, with belief restored. Abdullah Shafique's magnificent 160 not out was the innings of the match. Sajid Khan and Ali Usman spun a web around the West Indies batters, combining for 16 wickets across the match, while Mohammad Ali and Ubaid Shah delivered crucial breakthroughs whenever partnerships threatened to grow.
West Indies had their own heroes - Justin Greaves, Roston Chase and Jomel Warrican all produced performances worth applauding, but Test cricket often rewards the team that wins the decisive moments. Pakistan won almost all of them. The trophy may be shared, but after Port of Spain, both teams know one thing for certain. This rivalry is very much alive.
As the celebrations settled and the emotions slowly gave way to smiles, it was time for the moment every Test series deserves. Both captains lifted the trophy. Babar Azam and Roston Chase walked out together, sharing the trophy after the series finished 1-1. There were handshakes. There were smiles. And, of course, plenty of photographs. Neither side left empty-handed.
The red-ball chapter closes, but the cricketing calendar certainly doesn't slow down. What's next? Plenty. West Indies will now shift gears and head to India for an exciting white-ball tour comprising three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning on 27th September. Pakistan, meanwhile, have little time to celebrate as they pack their bags for another stern Test challenge, travelling to England for a three-match Test series, with the first encounter set to begin on 19th August. Different conditions. Different challenges. Fresh stories waiting to be written.
